VOLKER HOLZNER

Fully certified mountain and ski guide
Ski Instructor
Snowboard Instructor Level 1

Having grown up in tranquil “Weißbach” in the Berchtesgaden area, “Voikei”, as his friends call him, has had nothing better to do than to ski every winter. And that he did with a great passion. He used his skis to save him the long walk to school, crossing the local farmers’ snow-covered fields. A true freerider even before this term was coined.

He learned to play his first instrument, became a musician at the local brass band and little later founded his own band.

When he trained to be a tinsmith, he got a hang for climbing. It was love at first sight. He became a passionate alpinist and trained to be a certified mountain and ski guide. After he had conquered the 4000 m summits in the Western Alps, his friend Peter Ressmann invited him to come to the Kitzbühel Alps.

For over 15 years he has now shown his clients the beautiful off-piste world surrounding the famous town of Kitzbühel. Volker knows where to find the most suitable runs for any snow condition and skiing ability.

Despite being rooted at home, Volker loves to explore the mountains all over the world. He enjoys sport climbing in Sardinia, Thailand and Cuba or high altitude mountaineering in South America, Pakistan and Nepal.

One of the highlights in his career was his engagement as lead mountain guide in the project of climbing Mt. St. Elias, Alaska with Resl and Axel Naglich. The goal was to enable them to descend to the ocean on skis. The project has been made into a movie.

BERNHARD EGGER

Fully certified mountain and ski guide
Diploma Ski Instructor
Snowboard Instructor Level 1

„Berni“ always wanted to keep on skiing, when the lifts in his hometown Bramberg im Oberpinzgau were about to close for the day. So it came as no surprise that Berni became a driven ski racer in his youth. But he didn’t stop there. He wanted to explore all the facets of skiing and ventured out to try ski touring, free riding and much more.

When he wasn’t at work as a carpenter, he spent every free minute in the mountains or in steep rock walls, to live moments of indescribable pleasure.

He trained hard and with a passion, and so managed to work his way to the top and become a certified mountain and ski guide. Now he enjoys sharing his passion with other sports and nature lovers and is dedicated to guide them safely to the summit, be it on skis when touring or freeriding, or attached to a rope when climbing or mountaineering.

Apart from loving a physical challenge, Berni is a humorous person and enjoys a good laugh.

GEORG VOITHOFER

Ski Guide
Diploma Ski Instructor

Georg is from Mittersill; a real „Pinzgauer“ so to say. The fact that he can ski so well in spite of that, might be due to Mittersill bordering on Tirol and the Pass Thurn ski area being his home ground for as long as he can think.

Georg also works for the Austrian Federal Forestry Office, has excelled in his hunting exam, and is therefore destined to provide his clients with an unbeatable outdoor experience. With his empathy and sense for snow, he is bound to find the right run for you at the right moment – a fact, which his numerous regular clients can happily confirm.

Moreover, Georg is a master on the Styrian harmonica and therefore always well received as a fun musician.
